"A word as a virus", is the definition Eva Sturm gives Susanna Morgenstern?s works round about the term: ?weiter? (further) in 1993. At this time visitors to the Viennese west train station were confronted with a white banner, on which black lettering spelled out the word "weiter " (further).
At that time, today and in the numerous projects since then, the word irritates with its open-ended meaning in space and time. An absence of direction creates a longing for an explanation.
Since 1993, Susanna Morgenstern has continued to operate on the multi-medial publication of the word "weiter" (further). On 17 April 1996 AKKU, an association for the mediation of contemporary art theory invited interested "weiter" viewers to a slide show/ lecture by Susanna Morgenstern. The invitation is part of the project:
this announcement is a consequence of ?weiter? (further). the lecture as a presentation and form of representation of the project and its context are themselves topics and serve the information and input. the AKKU supplies the means. strategies, methods and forms correspond to the meaning of ?weiter? (further), becoming content and a motive to motives. (from the

The word is presented in a kind of slide show/ performance, Morgenstern reads a 30 minute lecture, and in 3 minutes intervals the slides change to repetitively show a new "weiter" (further). In the series "weiter" (further) the lecture is, so far, the only version in which Morgenstern comes into personal contact with the viewer. Here she discusses the conceptual aspects of language in
the lecture and the repetitive visual presentation of the word emerging and disappearing via slide
show.
In her past "weiter" (further) projects the author usually completely withdrew from the respective medium of the representation. Advertising mediums, spots in the mass media radio and daily papers, large transparencies in public locations served Morgenstern?s purpose just as the pre-script or post-script of different books, in order to present the word and move the word through
