"Into Art" is Dorit Magreiter's contribution to the exhibition "The making of"; following the traditions of concept art and, at the same time, rejuvenating and enriching this custom, it is an ironic contribution to the discussion of institutional wrangling and happenings within the field of art. Dorit Margreiter's video is full of friendly faces reminiscent of early evening TV serials, where relations to each other are suggested and "only" create a potential reality in the mind of the observer.

Into Art remains an introduction where the protagonists, all coworkers and employees of the art institution Generali Foundation, are presented performing their regular activities. Through the use of specific "trailer aesthetics" and well know trademarks, e.g. the use of music from the 80's show Dallas, the protagonists are identified as Soap Opera stars.
Dismantling conventionality within the institution is simultaneously a suggested script, picking up from the social situation within the Generali Foundation, with fictitious characters within the exhibition (sister, lovers, friends...). (Suess)
