"Down By", "Wild At", and "Strange" are a series of short clips which Ayre Wachsmuth produced for the exhibition "Strange Encounters" in the temporary Viennese Art/ Artist Gallery Bricks and Kicks. The curators Adi Rosenblum and Markus Muntean created the set design which was to be used for all videos produced by participating artists.

Different from his earlier works, in which he used film and TV footage together with self produced sound tracks to generated a new narrative line, the takes for "Down by", "Wild at" and "Strange" were filmed live in the sets. The post production soft effect scenes show moments in a film-like atmosphere. The used sound was taken out of existing film clips and removed from their original reference: Wachmuth´s re-mixed samples employ dialogs and pictures familiar to us through aesthetics of film.
